Stochastic Simulation of Photo-physics - by Sebastian Malkusch |
|
Here we introduce stochastic simulation of photo-physics (ssp), a command-line tool to perform Monte Carlo (MC) simulations on the stochastic reappearance of fluorescence signals, originated from the decay of long lived dark-states. The algorithm is object orientated (OO) and treats every molecule as an independent object as postulated by the spirit of single molecule localization microscopy (SMLM) measurements. The software logs the simulation results to 4 text files at different detail levels. This way ssp provides the ground truth needed for the benchmark of the quantitative single molecule localization microscopy (qSMLM) algorithm.
